Advisory Board

RELI Advisory Board acts as our Healthcare Services Component that works in tandem with our IT services organization. RELI leverages a formidable partnership with our Advisory Board that provides a broad spectrum of support for the vital healthcare mission of the agencies in which we support. Our specialized Advisory Board provides strategic guidance and direction for our research and scientific programs. This group of SMEs play a key role in guiding and prioritizing RELI’s research investments and serves as a support arm to our Executive Team.

Dr. Aneel Advani, Chief Medical Officer Chairman & CEO, Global Virtual Group; President, Addwin Counsulting; Associate Professor (Adjunct), Johns Hopkins University

Dr. Aneel Advani is a board-certified physician informaticist and a leader in applying health information technology to improve the health of communities and populations and advance public health and population medicine. Dr. Advani has served in various leadership capacities in federal service, including as the Associate Director for Informatics/CMIO at the Indian Health Service, the Associate Director for Technology/CTO at the National Center for Public Health Informatics at the CDC, and in leadership roles on several federal-wide steering and advisory committees, including the senior steering group on Health IT R&D under the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. Dr. Advani was for many years on the informatics faculty of Children’s Hospital Boston/Harvard Medical Institutions, and received his medical and specialty training Johns Hopkins, Yale, and Stanford.

Dr. Hwang specializes in risk adjustment methodology and measurement of individual’s comorbidity and disease burden in the context of evaluating treatment effects, quality of care, and health care cost and reimbursement. His research also focuses on the health system issues such as care coordination and the functional division between different medical specialties across different practice settings in care for persons with multiple conditions.  Dr. Hwang has over 20 years of experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, and private health plans.
